HISTORY
ADU was formed in 1975, its charter was
to centralize all credit processing and systems development for
Allied Stores Corporation, then the 5th largest holding company of
retail stores in the US. By 1980 ADU's standard A/R billing system
was supporting Allied's 29 retail divisions. Each month over 4
million statements and duns were mailed from ADU's Central Facility
just outside Boston, MA. A/R balances over the next 10 years
exceeded 1 billion dollars. Allied's data bases held over 15
million accounts, annual sales averaged 4.4 billion dollars.
Systems development and centralization of systems continued
through the 80's and 90's. New systems included New Account Processing,
Collections, Data Base Marketing, Bureau Link, Check
Authorizations, and POS Authorizations.
