| CHECK SYSTEM |
|
|
| The ADU Check system provides five levels of check authorizations. All forms of identification are supported including "drivers license", full or partial " micr-number", and "A/R account number. Level (1) is your own inhouse negative file. The negative file is controlled by a multi-level reason table for user specified categories. Level (2) is a velocity file of checks accepted but that have not cleared the bank. The velocity file captures checks from POS and CRT entry. Velocity levels and options are controlled using online tables. Parameters include number of checks and $ amount of checks by day and period. Level (3) is access to vendor negative files stored on the in-house database. The system will allow adding up to 10 vendor files in your database. These files can be accessed directly from POS or CRT. Level (4) is a full positive file of all checks that have cleared the bank. Checks are stored online for up to 999 days. Based on a "days" parameter the system will automatically flag customers as positive. Separate online controls allow these good customers to have higher check limits. Level (5) is direct access to remote vendor databases. Optional switching from POS to remote guarantee services can vary based on many options. Some examples are check amount and/or number of checks, day and period limits, activity, and store. Check activity is captured and displayed "realtime" by store. Daily audit trails and referral analysis reports are built in. In-house credit cards, if used as a form of ID, can optionally force the passing of the check transaction through the credit authorization algorithm in addition to check algorithms. |
| The security tables are user maintained by system module. Each operator can be restricted to specific functions and can be provided tailored menus. Security tables can also be maintained at either the corporate or division level. |
| Each POS check referral will generate a queue number for the transaction that can be called into the central credit department. The queue number when entered into a CRT will display the check record and highlight all referral reasons. The operator can approve or deny the check immediately or defer the transaction while research is conducted. |
| All POS check and credit transactions can be passed to the ADU authorization programs for communication switching. If your checks are handled by a check guarantee processor, ADU will format the transaction to the processors format and emulate the proper communication protocols. Responses will be received and routed back to the POS device. |
| All credit bureau controls are maintained in user tables. Dynamic bureau zip selection provides a primary, backup, and default bureau. Online monitor screens provide a status of each bureau node. The system will automatically access the backup bureau when the primary bureau is flagged as off line. All bureau data is presented in a standard format and archived for future reference. A full set of bureau analysis reports are provided showing hit and no-hit percents by zip, bureau, and bureau report characteristics. When a check referral occurs for overlimit or marginal criteria a bureau report can be retrieved in seconds. |
| Inhouse check records are viewable and maintainable online. Each check record contains over twenty pieces of identification. Fields maintainable include name, address, social, micr number ,drivers license, phone, and a comments field. |
