The ADU new account system (NAPS) is a fully on-line system that supports the entry, review, and decisioning of credit applications. As with all ADU Systems NAPS will run on either mainframe or AS/400 TM. The system is delivered with tailored entry screens for each application type. Scoring models tied to each entry screen have table driven score cutoffs and risk matrixes. Included is the ADU CPU-CPU bureau link that interfaces with the major US and Canadian credit bureaus. It operates as a stand alone system or interfaces with NAPS and other ADU modules. Embedded in the NAPS module is a full context sensitive USER HELP SYSTEM.
The security tables are user maintained by system module. Each operator can be restricted to specific functions and can be provided tailored menus. Security tables can also be maintained at either the corporate or division level.
Once the application is entered and passes entry edits the system checks for duplicates on the pending application file, the previously declined application file, and the A/R data base. Any matches will automatically flag the account as a "DUP" and present the analyst with a list screen of duplicate names. Each application field is also passed against the fraud file and if any fields match, the application is automatically moved to a supervisor work queue for review. Applications that have passed online checks then have the account/reference number generated and the bureau inquiry formatted and sent.
The bureau request is initiated by the system when the application is entered. Each bureau is sent real time and returned in about five seconds. Bureaus can be prioritized based on type of applications. Instant Credit Applications for example could be given the highest priority. When the bureau is received scoring logic is performed and based on values in the user tables the application will be approved or declined - for approved accounts a risk will also be assigned and the request for plastic generated, for declined applications the declination letter will be created. On decisioned applications all data can be presented back to the entry operator for analysis or only the account number and decision displayed. For non-decisioned applications (approximately 10%) the applications will fall into an operator exception queue for review - dups, frauds, and other miscellaneous categories. The automatic review queues give the analyst the ability to approve or decline the application, update the application, draw another bureau, re-score the application, send letters, and reschedule the application.
All bureau controls are maintained in user tables. Dynamic bureau zip selection provides a primary, backup, and default bureau. Online monitor screens provide a status of each bureau node. The system will automatically go to the backup bureau when the primary bureau is flagged as down. All bureau data is presented in a standard format and automatically archived with the application data at the end of each month. A full set of bureau analysis reports are provided showing hit and no-hit percents by zip, bureau, and bureau report characteristics.
The ADU letter system allows a supervisor to design and create customized correspondence with over 40 application and bureau variables. Each letter can be sent on a request basis or tied into the scoring algorithm for automatic declination letters. A declination letter reason table provides up to 1,000 letter reasons.
